WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Hackers are increasingly holding computer networks hostage.
Security experts say they’ve seen a huge uptick in ransomware attacks here in West Michigan.
Ransomware involves the victim’s computer being locked, the victim unable to access their computer files. A message will often pop up, asking the user to pay the ransom in the form of bitcoins in order to regain access to their files.
